I found an item in Intuit's knowledge base for Quicken 2002 that this is a known issue where splits have more than 13 lines. "When trying to create a category report Quicken crashes with a Type 1 or 2 error. However, it apparently persists in 2002, as noted by Tim Rinkel: The report ignores the category assigned to the 14th line of any transaction and places the amount in the 'Other' category." Note: this was an issue in previous versions of Quicken (see this item). With Mac OS X, everything runs fine - at least in the particular situation described. However, a problem occurs only if running Mac OS 9.
